This cartridge is 2" OD by 10" and is designed to fit in Standard Housings (Slimline). This premium Doulton® ceramic replacement element is filled with a full 16 oz. of KDF®55 redox media and will fit all standard 10" housings. The outer Sterasyl® ceramic material removes 99.95% of dirt, rust, sediment, colloidal material, and biological contaminants including giardia and cryptosporidium oocysts down to .9 micron. KDF®55 is a patented media that uses the natural process of electrochemical oxidation/reduction (redox potential) to effectively remove chlorine; heavy metals including arsenic, lead, cadmium, mercury, and aluminum; hydrogen sulfide (up to 0.5 ppm); as well as control bacteria, fungus, algae, and mold. KDF® media renders water bacteriostatic (meaning that treated water cannot support the growth of bacteria so water dispensed into bottles stays fresh longer. It also increases the redox potential of the water turning ordinary water into a potent antioxidant. This cartridge meets NSF Standard 42 for chlorine reduction, Standard 53 for cyst reduction and Standard 58 for turbidity reduction. This cartridge can be cleaned with a sponge or soft brush and reused over and over. Replace when diameter of the cartridge becomes smaller than limit stated in installation instructions.
